Stocks fall; Citigroup, bank shares down

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S stocks fell on Tuesday, led by declines in CitiGroup Inc. and other financial services stocks, as a drop 

in existing home sales raised concerns about consumer and mortgage lending.

Shares in citigroup the worlds largest financial institution, dropped 1.5 percent to $43.56, while the Pholadelphia KBW Bank Index fell 0.9 percent.

Demand for home-building stocks declined after areport by the National Association of Realtors Showed sale of previously owned homes 

slowed more thanexpected last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 7.16 million units

An index of home-builder shares fell 1.1 percent

"Stocks have been losing steam as a result of higher rates and higher energy prices," said Carl

Birkelbach, president of Birkelbach Management Corpin Chicago with $200 million in stocks.

뉴욕(로이터) - 소비자와 주택융자에 영향을 미친 부동산 가격하락 현상처럼

화요일 씨티그룹과 금융기관의 주가가 하락해미국의 주가가 하락했다.

세계에서 가장 큰 금융기관인 씨티그룹의 주식은 필라델피아 KBW은행의 주가가 0.9% 

하락을 기록하는 동안1.5% 하락하여 43.56달러를 기록했다.

주탁 건설업의 주식수요는 계절마다 조정되는 수치인 7억 1,600만 가구보다 

주택의 거래가 둔화하였다는 전국 부동산중개인 연합의 보고가 있은 후 하락했다.

주택건설업의 주가는 1.1% 하락했다.

시카고에 있는 20억 달러의 주식을 보유한 Birkelbach Management Corp. 의 사장 Carl Birkelbach는

"환율 과 에너지 가격의 상승으로 인해 주식의 열기가 식고있다." 고 말했다.
